BFG Land Terrians

Has anybody had any experience with these tires? I hear they are a wal-mart brand tire only, they look a lot like the BFG AT but for a lot less. I would love to get BFG AT's but cant afford it so looking for an all terrian for a little less money.

Not All That Good

Had a friend w/a Chevy on and those tires. He didn't like them at all. Did'nt seem to grip all that well. Try the tire rack web site and General Grabber AT2's good price and the tread design is a chip of the block from BFG AT w/o the price.

Yeah, I reaaally want the BFG AT's but there to expensive, so I just checked out the General Grabber AT2's and they look very simular, at 106 a tire thats pretty cheap. I read the reviews and all seemed good even from the guys who had rangers. Seemed like the only guys with troubles was people with Silverados.

But these tires are Load Range E. meaning 10 ply rite? Everybody around here says my "little" truck doesnt need a tire that built, but tons of people on here have 10 ply and say there awesome.

It means youll get MANY more miles out of them, and in the case you do any offroading, they will hold up an awful lot better then any 'cheap' tires.. so go with your gut instincts, and with whatever you can afford :-)

So lemme get this strait, it doesnt matter if i go with 10 ply? Just get em and I'll be good? I heard of a ranger who had to fill his tires up to 70 psi to keep them inflated?? but 35 or so psi should work rite?

Ive had those on the ranger before in 255/70R16 and they were ok. They wear pretty good but found they were not good on ice but most AT tires arent great on ice. Got the BGF AT,s after that and they were much better offroad. They did ok in snow/rain/mud. I would rate them between the Long Trails and the TA KO's.

If you get 10 ply tires they will be fine, they will be heavier and more durable and probably last longer. The down fall is that they will bring your gas mileage down significantly. The reason that the person you are referring to had 70 psi in there tires is because that is what heavy duty tires in higher load ranges require. So to answer your question, 35 psi wont be ok. Fill it to what the side wall on the tires specifies.

I would think 10 plys would ride rough , especaily on our little trucks .
I say this bc when I had the 3/4 ton I ran 10 ply goodyears when I had to pull the 24footer around daily , Then when I baught new tires I went with 8ply toyos and it was 10x smoother like a freakin caddy .

But to answer your ?s yes you could , it will use more gas and ride rouger .
But as mention they will be more durable .

And always fill to the spec on the tire not on the door jam .

I had Land Terrains on my 4runner. Gather a few more bucks an get all terrains or grabber 2's. The land terrains did not do very well in snow or wet weather. They did wear well and were quiet tho....

Yeah fork over for the extra ply. I could of had a 3ply tire, but i forked out and went 6 ply, they are holding up just fine.
