bl question+pic request
Im sure the questions have been asked but I wanna ask in my own way and get my own answers to feel comfortable enough doing thing.
I have a 2001 2wd ranger edge
I have always been agains bodylifts but for some reason you cant really notice them all that much on rangers for some reason is there a secret to that? note: I dont want to have a lift and nice rims and big tires but my truck look like crap like most trucks with body lifts but I wouldnt even know half the trucks on here have them when I look
I was also wondering if anyone has any kneeling down pics of their truck so you can really see how much is sticking out under the truck after the bl I see pics but they are mostly at angles becasue the person is standing.
will my truck still drive the same or if I dont go slow around turns am I going to feel like Im going to tip over and feel like Im all over the road on the highway or does it have alot of body roll? note this is a big concern for me that I will feel unstable driving my truck around
what brand bl should I go with and from where so that I get EVERYTHING I need for the cheapest price but still get a good reliable kit.
should I go 3" or is there any good reason to go for a 2'' or even 1''.
after the body lift I was thinking of cranking my tortion bars abit not maxing them really maybe just a inch or inch and a half what would I need to get if anything to make sure the truck is level
whats the biggest tire and what size and offset rims should I go with

If your gunna do the work, why not take it all the way...3"s?
I cranked my 2" on the T-bars....maxed em out, them dropped down 1"...its level now...
and, does your truck even have t-bars on a 2wd? I'm not the suspy professor, but I think you just got coil springs, you can just add 2" spacers to level it........but not sure, check with the experts lol
after just a BL, I believe, you might squeeze 33's,may need the 2" front lift for them, but once again, wait for the experts....my post should hold you over for a bit.....

No I def dont have coil springs unless they are hidden the torsion bars are th bars that come from up under the engine to alittle past the front part of the door and end in a box looking thing right? I just feel like 3" off space between the frame and body is alot. so why would I wanna drop down the back becasue its higher in the first place I dont know if Id want to crank my bars to get 2'' that seems like alot of cranking and it would be a really stiff ride and they would start to sag after awhile unless I have #1 which I doubt thats why I was gonna just crank them alittle maybe Ill do the 3'' bl and then just crank them till its level with the rear so Ill proly have a total of 4'' in the front and back that should fit
33''s I used to have 31'' pro comp m/t on stock rims back in the day

I'm an expert! LOL Hardly.. But you have an Edge which means you have torsion bars. This of course is going to the OP. If you're going to do a body lift make it worth while and do the 3" body lift. Level your truck by cranking your torsion bars and maybe adding a shackle in the rear. You could run 33's with just a torsion bar crank but you will have slight rubbing but nothing major. With the body lift and torsion crank you won't have any rubbing though.

whats OP mean? ya I was pretty sure I had torsion bars because thats what the edge is isnt it a 2wd with the 4x4 suspension set up. anyone know what gears I have will I be able to turn the 33s ok I also have the 4.0 v6 in it I know right now with the stock wrangler tires it sure spins them easy enough. nothing like my I-6 did with 33'' m/t in my cherokee

thats why i love these trucks. the frame sticks down with a body lift about as far as a lot of other stock trucks do. **** stock GM fullsizes are terrible.
i did the body lift, was skeptical before i did it, but ended up being a great mod. especially if you arent gonna wheel youre truck that hard, its the best bang for the buck imo

Ya so when they settle you just tighten them abit more to compensate right? do you have to get another alignment then or is it not enough to matter. do you guys feel like you have body lifts or is it really unnoticable becasue of how far the frame is in the body to start with I feel like some stock trucks show more frame then some of the rangers Im looking at with bodylifts

You either have 3.73's or 4.10's. You can find out what ratio you have by checking your axle tag on the rear diff cover. It's held on by one of the bolts that hold the diff cover on. Either way though you'll be able to turn the tires no problem. In the end of all these long posts, my recomendation to you is to do the 3" body lift and crank your torsion bars about 2". You won't have a terrible ride by cranking them that much and you won't see a bad amount of frame. Search "bodylift" on here and I'm sure you'll find TONS of threads where people posted pictures of body lifted trucks.

aftet seeing that its better if I got some steps it covers the frame the front is kinda ugly though Im talking about the black fx4 I dont like how you can see so much front suspension thats why im thinking a aluminum skip plate would cover it up and look cool
