Suspension lift. They give you the added ground clearance. Body lifts only let you put bigger wheels and tires on. And as for appearance, I just don't like the look of body lifts as well.

acully here is the thing people forgot about and i love it when they do...

suspension lift on a 98+ 4x4 IFS front suspension, DROPS the front cross member and give you bigger blocks for the back(or be smart and get new springs AAL yaydaydyad) so with stock tires your front cross member and rear diff are still the same distance from the ground. now yes the center area is higher and so is the front and rear deproch angles but a body lift does the same thing minus high center... minus a long travel kit a suspension and body do damn near the same thing makes room for the bigger tires which gives you more ground clearness, cause the main limiting factor with both is still there the restriction from the front cross member and diff.....

It depends, If money grows on trees, then do the suspension lift. If you don't have a money tree, and only want you truck a few inches higher to impress the Junior high school punks, then go body.

I don't like BL becasue they don't look good at all to me, I like the frame being where it belongs and opening the hood and not seeing the engine looking like it is out of place. Plus I like factory two hooks, and they are a no-go with a BL un less you like a trimmed valance, which I don't.

My opinion is BL Cheap way out, Suspension Expensive, but worth it for what your get.

I have never had a lift, because I don't like BL and if I had three Grand to Pi$$ away I can think of about 1000 better things to do with it. Plus the off-roading I have done I don't htink it would have helped me anyway, and going through the trails in the Grouse woods, it probably would hinder actually as the trees would be dragged all over my truck if it was 6 inches higher in the air.

let me sum it up for you.....

offroading = suspension lift because you will use it for ground clearance and bigger tires........functionally

street driving = body lift because you will use it for bigger tires only.........for looks

I used the hell out of my BL'ed Ranger. I wasn't kind to my truck and never had any problems with it. Just as long as you install it right, you can go anywhere and do whatever offroading you want.

How much would I be spending if I got a suspension lift? Prolly just a 3" or 4" lift, Im not going to be offroading alot but suspension seems alot better to do then body lift.
