Since you have a 07 you sit lower than an 98-06 truck from the get go. You also have one of the massive valences. If you don't want to trim, I'd run some 32s. Aka 265/75/16

I have a 99 xlt sport with 225/70r15, my question is how much of a lift would I need for say a 255/75r17 tire?

Ok i saw that too but that also says stock suspension at 16x7 i could fit 285s with a tbar but insted of a tbar im getting a body lift so that means i could fit 285s...right? And no trimming

Also that chart goes from 01-09, so keep in mind it doesn't mention the fact that 07+ sits lower than 01-06. A tbar crank from an 06 truck is different than one on an 07.

It's not just about the tire size, it has to do with the backspacing of the rims you put them on. Every set-up is not going to be the same.. it's going to vary based on what you choose to do. Will it fit? Yes.. will it rub? That depends. Are you going to wheel it with that set-up? What rims are you going to use? What backspacing.. research man.. there are others that have run a set-up similar or exactly like what you are considering.. go read a little bit and see if they had any complaints.
