Chart of maximum tire size

This is a work in progress. I will update as new information comes. PM me to get faster response.

So far it goes as follows (If anything is wrong, let me know and I'll change it):

*DISCLAIMERS*

*Depending on vehicle age and history of driving conditions/habits stock suspensions may have 'sagged' causing tire clearance issues. As a result, the said tire sizes are not guaranteed to fit every application listed. It is to be used as a guideline for choosing tires, not the 'be all end all'.

*Wheel Backspacing/offset DOES MATTER but this a GENERAL chart. some trucks my differ, modify at your own risk!!!*

*R-F, fx4me, Redneckstone, and the other contributing members take NO responsibility in the harming of your vehicle*

An Excel spreadsheet of max tire size versus lift has already been compiled by experts for many popular vehicles. However, I guarantee that it won't stop the questions or the arguments.

Yah but it doesn't go that indepth. It does cover a lot but I think we're looking for a lil more.

Here's my help.

98-00 4WD *stepside*: 33s

Is there a difference in XLT vs. other models? Mine is XLT.

It lists 1983 through 2003 4x4 Rangers with different lifts and the max tire sizes that can be used with each. By inference, it also covers 2004-up because the 4x4 suspension is the same in those years as the 98~2003 range in the chart.

It's the most complete 4x4 list that I've found.

My buddy has a 1996 Ranger XLT 4x2. We just put edge wheels and tires (the ones with the goodyear wrangler RTS), and I was told they are 29's and we had to trim in his wheelwell so it wouldnt rub.

You could go to a local maw and paw tire place and see if they will let you test fit a couple tires on your wheels to see which ones will fit and which ones won't.

Stone----> Damn good work there, buddy. I'm going to compile all of these and add them to my page on my site and add a link to it on my Myspace page.

Yah 90-92 rangers are small tires. I'll check out my buddies, i'd say 29s or 30s largest tho.

Hey FX4me, can you change 98-00 info to be same as the 2001+ because i mean to say that torsions twisted would be 33s. Stock is 32s. Body lift + lill/no trimming and torsion twist = 35s. Sorry

Someone may have already pointed this out, or maybe I'm just misreading, but...

Quote:
1993-1997 Ranger 4x4
Stock:
2" front coil spring lift block: 31x10.5

1993-1997 Ranger 4x2
Stock: 32x10.5
So you can fit 31's on a 4x4 with a 2" lift, but you can fit 32's on a 4x2 stock?

Will 285X75X16 fit on my truck with stock suspension?
According to the above, they will with T-Bar crank :)
