What is your price range looking like for the lift? Due to the fact you do have a TTB your suspension lifts will not be nearly the price as to if you had a TBS

rangererv 02-09-2006 01:07 PM

it all depends on what you want to spend on it.
Suspension lift is way sweeter, but is way more expensive
body lift is alright, and is way cheaper

zabeard 02-09-2006 01:21 PM

do both!

it all depends on what you want to spend and do with your truck... i like suspension lifts better

Bob's site is a great place to get stuff from... not sure if what they have will work for your year truck though

True... true. No dunes in PA. However i am still looking for good clearence and good times. Most likley feilds and wood trails.

there are very cheap ways to lift an 88 you can go with a chevy drop shackles and explorer springs in the back I know that will give you a couple inches. there are also things to do in the front. Like I have heard of f150 spacers or just buy coil springs that are lifted. This would be the cheapest way to go. I would say though if you are looking for good quality which is prolly the recommended way I would say go with a popular brand like skyjacker. If I had the cash I would get a James Duff lift.

How does a 4" suspension lift sound? Bent i beams, custom radius arms and 4" lift coils.
If that doesn't suit you I know of a 5" suspension lift that will not only look great but clean 33"s without a single problem.
Looking about 800-1500 installed.

Yes but what you also have to take into concideration is that with a Body lift your not doing anything to the suspension. Which means on the trails your still oging to have the stock POS Ford Suspension. Upgrading the suspensioin would be the best bet to hand offroad.
Simple as that.

zabeard 02-10-2006 06:31 AM

a few options here.

Cass, not everyone builds a prerunner, jumpin truck. if that is what he wants cool, but the way he is talking i dont think that is what he wants. might be wrong tho

telemaster1952 02-10-2006 07:20 AM

you have ttb so a body lift would be good but a suspension lift would better and more reliable esp f you do it right with the ttb is soooo much more reliable when lifted than indy suspension on the front, you just have to get a lift and then get a realignment brcket for the wheels so they are not slanted
