no you need to buy the extension from PA for the stock shifter. the Hurst replaces the whole stock shifter pack thats why its different
Hey guys Im new to this forum and a new ranger owner, I have 2 questions:
1) Instead of doing it myself would I be able to just pay firestone or someone to install it for me? Im not a good mechanic and I dont wana **** anything up.
2) After a 3 inch body lift what kind of tires would I be able to fit on it? I was thinking 235s on 16 inch rims.

1) They will charge alot, but some places will do it
2) You could fit 305s on a BL on a newer ranger, not sure what year yours is.
More info that I just learnt
If truck doesnt start, the fuel pump might have cut off, so check that first! Don't do like me and start panicking. If it's not that then I have no idea.

your going to have to find some extra lift pucks and bolts to make it work on your truck

can we get this thread either re-posted, or moved, to the how-to section? it would be much easier to find when needed...
the other question i had, was the links at the top of the first post,
are those year of truck, or model of lift?

and those are the years of the truck not model lift
Thread is staying right here in the Bodylift section as it's the ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE for it.
Please try and keep filth out of these sticky threads. They are meant for reference during your lift or during your preparation for the lift. NOT a help thread.

What filth are you talking about Shane?
My other question is about the thread locker, the lift comes with it, do you put it on when you do the lift or when you re torque the bolts? If you put it on first time around, retorquing will be harder and it probably won't lock after, and if you put it on after, you would have to remove every bolt to put the loctite on...

Thank you
theres a lip on the bottom of the body, use a jack and a block of wood...it shouldnt bend if u do it properly, but keep an eye on it..and dont do it alone..not this part atleast..make sure somebody is atleast watching so things dont go bad.
IDK if anyone has changed the OP yet, but it should need to be updated with the following information:
'83-08 shortbeds have 6 bed bolts.
'09+ shortbeds have 10 bed bolts.
Kits come with 14 blocks/bolts to cover shortbed and longbed(long bed has 8 bolts). If someone wants to bodylift a '09+ and wants to fill each hole in their bedfloor, they'll need to purchase 2 blocks and 2 more bolts to make their kit complete for their truck. Blocks and bolts can be purchased direct from Performance Accessories for about $2-3 a block.
I don't know at this time which spare bolts are included in the PA/Summit kits, but I think they are the rearmost ones, the 180mm bolts. If that's the case, I believe the new bolts that need to be purchased for '09+ trucks are the front-most bolts....the 250mm bolts(i think that's the length??).
'09+ longbeds: no clue on bed bolts. There's none around me.
You shouldn't lift by the rockers or the pinch weld on the rockers. You should lift by the cab floor...between the rockers and the frame and using a block of wood. I like to use an 8x8 that's about 14" long. I know of a member who jacked the truck up by the rockers......and let me tell you, it ain't pretty. He covered up the uglyness with sliders. lol.

I've installed PA body lifts on several of my Rangers, and most recently on my '05. I noticed that the pictures in the instruction manual are getting very poor from regeneration. PA is usally a pretty good kit, so this is a little surprising. I also noticed that it's MUCH easier to reinstall the front bumper BEFORE reinstalling the trans cooler. It's easier access to the mounting hardware.
I've seen a few variations, but what's the most common mod for reinstalling the front tow hooks?
