Ordered my body lift tonight!!!!

Hey guys so i ordered my body lift tonight after i had a revelation. lol

So i went to go see the movie kick-*** with my Fiance and when i came back outside there was a lifted ranger next to me. I know it was a superlift lift on the truck cause it said superlift on the skid plate but it did have rancho shocks. Anyways with the way my truck was sitting next to it and how small it looked i went home and ordered the PA 3" BL from autoanything.

cant wiat to get it installed!!! only thing is my boy doesnt know that he is gonna help me install it yet! lol any advice on things i should have done first??? he will be working on it for about 8 hours before i get home to help him.

p.s anyone wanna come over and help for liqueor and pizza??

spray all of the bed and cab mount bolts with PB Blaster so it works while you wait for the kit to come in. I would spray them once per day until its time to install the kit. Also, be ready to have a Mapp gas torch, you can purchase one at home depot or your local hardware store its just like the propane torches but the bottle is yellow instead of black. The torch will help get the bolts out easier....just turn them bright red from the bottom with the torch and blast them off with the impact gun...that will melt all of the locktite off of the threads.

other than that you should be good to go

What about the rubber bushings around the cab mount bolts? How do you keep them from burning if you heat the bolts with a torch?

you dont need to worry about them since they are being replaced. if you really want to try and save them i would try not to use heat unless as a last resort

The way it sounds he did but im not sure..

So you cant get the bolt lined up to go through the hole? Maybe somthing is off since your doing it one side at a time and when u did the driver side something ended up miss aligned? Ive always done it one side at a time and not had problems but its just an idea as im not there to see exactly whats going on..

It has been a long time since I did it but you could try jacking up one side and put all the blocks in then put the bolts in as much as possible then start lifting the other side. They should start lining up after that.

just don't go crazy and slide the cab off haha

Yah, I found that doing all 3 blocks on one side each worked ok rather then doing from back-2-front...

Also, as you get blocks in....dont tighten them all the way, just get them started, that way you can still have room for shifting....

ok well my bodylift is like 98% complete. however im having alot of movement of my cab and popping noises when i turn. also i did something stupid when lifting the cab. the metal funnel looking things that screw into the bolt, well i accidently drilled those out thinking they needed to be. so i ran a washer and nut on the bottom of the bolts to try to help. do i need to order those metal funnel looking things??

Yeh i would probally get the correct nuts something holding my body to the frame is not someplace id cheap out lol. That may be some or all of your movement.. I would get those and make sure everything is tight.
