2003 body lift on a 1995?

Could I make a 3" body lift for a 2003 ranger work for a 95? What all parts would be different and have to be replaced or switched out? I found one on craigslist that is a very good deal, it even has the gap guards...

Only things that'll work are the blocks themselves($3 brand new items) and MAYBE most of the bolts(about $3-4 ea x 12 at most). Best bet is to buy the proper kit that's made specifically for your truck to ensure no BS to deal with. Plus, brand new from a new vendor is still pretty darn cheap for yours compared to a 98+. Probably because Gen3's are missing rear bumper brackets.

What'll be different? Steering extention(most expensive part of the BL kit), bumper lift brackets, the newer kit's rear bumper bracket's wont work for yours, possibly the front core support mounts, front gap guards are different, possibly the fuel filler and vent tube sizes may be different.

How much is this "smokin' deal" you've got?

Here it is:

3 inch body lift

If anyone lives in or near central ohio this could be a good deal for you... :)

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just have to wait until I get more money and get the right kit...

HOLYSHAT that's a great deal!!!

BTW...your entire kit is about a 20 dollar bill more than that. Granted, no gap guards though.

Ok, I just bought what I thought was a used 3" BL for a 95-97 ranger for $50, and it turns out the guy lied (or didn't know) and it is for 98-00. It looks like all the these components will work:

Lift and crush blocks (obviously)
Steering Ext.
Radiator lift brackets/blocks
Fan shroud relocation brackets
1 ground relocation bracket
Most of the bolts and washers

I don't want to relocate/lift the rear bumper; I'm going to cover the gap and put some running lights in there. But I do want to raise the front bumper. Does anyone have any front bumper lift brackets for a 95-97 that you would want to get rid of? Or can anyone give me the dimensions of the brackets so I can make some myself?

Also, what do I need in case I have to extend the fuel filler neck?

Are there any parts I'm missing aside from the manual shifter extension I need to order?

Thanks...

Hey PAShooter, did you get that BL off of CL?

Well, I called Performance Accessories and the steering extension is the same part number for 95-00, it may be the same for other years too, but those are the only years I asked about. I also got the part numbers for the front bumper brackets and the fuel filler extension and they told me to call one of their retailers to get prices and ordering info.

I called jegs and the front bumper brackets are $10.29 a piece. The fuel filler extension is $3.99. Are there alternative ways to make a fuel filler extension if I need to?

Trip to Home Depot for conduit in the correct or almost correct size would be a fix for the fuel necks.

Well the bed is lifted, it was extremely easy. It took me about 30 minutes. My fuel filler hose was fine, so I didn't have to use an extension. I got the measurements for the front bumper brackets, made a template and dropped it off at a local welding shop so they could cut them for me. It will end up costing me the same for them to fab them as it would for me to special order the kit parts, but this way I will have them tomorrow evening rather than a week or more from jegs...

Hopefully this time tomorrow my truck will be completely lifted! :)

Thanks Fx4wannabe01...

Ok, it turns out the steering extension wasn't the correct part. So either the guy I talked to at Performance Accessories made a mistake when I asked if the part numbers were the same, or the body lift was for a 2001 and up ranger.

Fx4wannabe01 was right, the steering extension and lift brackets are different, though the rear bumper lift brackets do work. As I wrote before, I had to make my own template for the front bumper brackets and have a welding shop make them for me. The parking brake extension wasn't with the kit, so I made one myself. I had to buy 4 bolts for the body mounts due to size differences, bolts for the bumper brackets, and I had to modify the steering extension to get it to work.

I ended up spending about $160 for everything (Including gas used to get the parts), so I ended up saving about $100, not including the money saved using Home Depot "Step Guard" for gap guards...

Here's what it looks like now:

Next up, bigger tires and step bars... :)
