Have a 99 ford ranget 5 spd i believe its a 2.3L . i was driving down 95 in 5 jus cruising when all of a sudden the car jerked and would allow me to go back into 5th gear so i down shifted and cruised in fourth till the nearest exit . I thought my clutch was bad so i dropped the tranny and replaced the clutch but now the car will not go into any gear , it stays in neutral and the clutch is very very loose. I also did drain the fluid from the tranny and the fluid was black as can be some people say i blew the tranny ,some have said i need to adjust the clutch but it my first 5spd that ive owned and im jus looking to be pointed in the right direction .as the truck sits now it can start because the neutral safety switch was disengaged so i dont have to push the clutch in to start the vehicle. PLEASE HELP!!!
