i searched couldnt find any info on this code

DTC:224
1. erratic IDM input to processor
2.(trucks only) SPOUT circuit ground/coil 1,2,3,or4

any info as to what it means would help

 

I'm guessing one of the plug wires is bad?

thats a coil 1,2,3,or 4 primary circuit failure. Have you checked for spark at each plug wire one at a time? You should have power on red/green wires to both coils. Then you should have a pulse on the other wires on the coils. You can use a test light and with the engine running see if you get flash from the test light while back probing the connector to the coil. Sounds like you either have a wire problem or a PCM bad.
