Looking for help with my 1993 2.3l ranger xlt
I am looking for advice for my 1993 Ranger XLT Xtracab 2x4 102k miles, i have had the computer- PCM/ecm out of the truck and found at least 1 bad capacitor so I ordered both and soldered in new capacitors. While i had the board out i did notice that in one spot where the capacitor leaked the board looked bubbled slightly and discolored. The truck starts on the second or third try then runs rough and when you hit the throttle and let off it backfires low power. I have changed plugs, wires, coil packs, egr vacuum solenoid, crank sensor, idle control valve, MAF is newer, engine temp sensor, fuel filter, lucas fuel treatment, new injectors, new fuel pressure regulator. I did the pcm wipe, and tried to check codes with ODB1 scanner and when I tried checking for 12vdc or 5vdc only one ware has power it grey with red tracer and that wire don't get used by the scanner so no codes test wont run. I am wondering can the pcm/ecm be tested before i spend the money for a new or rebuilt one.
