Oil Guage drops?

when i go around a corner at faster than 10-15 mph , my oil guage dips to low as i go around the corner but then immediately jumps back up after i get going straight. engine doesnt act weird at all.

could this just be the oil in my engine moving away from the sensor due to gravity of going around the corner? or is this something serious?

I thought the oil gauge was a glorified idiot light? Or does the 96 have an actual gauge?
