p0320 code

Changed my timing belt and everything was lovely till I had an aftermarket alarm installed. The screwed the pooch on the install and I have a suit with them. Thats another story.
I'm getting a p0320 code and the only symptom is that occasionally it won't start. Cranks a few times and nothing till you hit the alarm off. Then it usually starts but sometimes you have to hit the alarm a few times to get it to crank.
Something tells me it's not the crank positioning sensor (looked good when I changed the belt) the speed sensor wouldn't do it as it is mainly for trans shifting and speedometer.
I'm not an alarm installer and I'm hesitant to screw with it until my case against the installer settles.
What do y'all think. Is it most likely the alarm? It has an ignition cut off feature and I think that's what causing the whole malfunction. I can clear the code and it will be days before it comes on again and the mileage goes to **** when the light is on.
What do y'all think?
