Tone ring off
Tone ring off
want to know if my tone ring has slipped the one on the right came off my truck one on left is a picture of the same one from RockAuto noticed the difference in the alignment of the teeth. Does the gap line up with crank sensor at top dead center?
Welcome to the forum
Yes, those tone rings are press fit onto the pulley and have been known to slip/move
No, the missing tooth is not directly lined up with key way of pulley
Not sure what the exact difference is, but yours has for sure moved so I assume a no start
And not sure how you would even move it back into correct location and have it stay there????
I would check wrecking yards or used(ebay), if not then new, 1995-2001 2.3l or 2.5l used the same setup as far as I know
Alignment in pictures looks to be 3 teeth counter-clockwise from key way looking at the back, so -30deg, there is 1 tooth every 10deg, the 3rd tooth in this placement is "missing", that's the gap
In this picture it looks like there is a mark on the tone wheel for alignment of the key way:
Not sure if that would be there on factory unit
