I have a 1997 2.3 2wd
I have taken this truck to 3 different mechanics they can’t find the problem, the truck starts fast no problem starting it but sometimes before I even step on the gas petal it hesitates to go and sometimes it feels like a misfire like a bang and than it goes, no mis fire code. I have changed my mass air flow sensor 3 times , spark plugs and wire one of my coil pack, both of my oxygen sponsors, pvc valve and hose, egr valve, idle control valve . I just don’t know what it could be. It only does it when cruising once it goes pass 10 mph it doesn’t do it anymore. Going up hill it does good goes up with no problem. Doesn’t smell like gas nothing weird coming out of my exhaust . shift perfectly fine. It does wonder full in high speeds on the freeway but as soon on as I come to a stop or slow down it will do a bang feels like a miss fire, than when accelerating it hesitates and than bang and goes. Sometimes it just hesitates than goes Sometimes it doesn’t do it at all.Automatic transmission.
Please help I would hate to sell it.
