I have a '02 Ranger 2wd with the 2.3 and want to know if I have the 7.5" or 8.8" rearend? If you know let me know.

my guess is with the 2.3 you'll have a 7.5 rear axle with 3.45 gearing

 

most likley a 7.5 gear ratio will depend on what tranny he has mine has a auto trans with a 7.5 and 4:10 gears

on your rear diff cover there will be a metal tag (should be) crawl under there and right down what it says and repost it here
