www.autoanything.com has them for 291.00 for the 04 3.0L V6.. I wouldnt recommend K&N at all esp with these new mafs. Doug had problems tuning one on an 04 3.0 v6 and without his programming the engine LOST power. Also, ZaBeard took his K&N off (as have others) and returned it to stock because it was causing the MAFS to become oily and throw codes and run like crap. I will never use K&N but its all in personal preference.. it'd be interesting to see a dyno of one on a 3.0 v6 with no programming done.

I've cleaned my MAF before and will likely clean it again
the new MAF design might help too because it is flat against the wall and not sticking in the air stream
I am not even sure if this model uses an oiled filter
it looks like a mega vaned paper job with perforated metal retainers - sort of like on a cycle
I called today and it should ship from California next week

Yeah, I used to be 2k3Edge way back when, and that was REAL original for a ranger board...

I've had no problems with K&N in my truck or in my Nissan. The only time you kill it is when you put too much oil in it after it's cleaned. Some people aren't smart enough to know the limit. As for power, it definitely didn't lose any but it's nothing earth shattering either. It's about a 150 RPM drop when cruising at 93 (with 4.10 gear).

I don't think your intake has anything to do with your gearing...

Exactly. The FIPK is carb legal and has the sticker. The air charger isn't carb certified and is for off-road/race use only. They are both the EXACT same intake and design. When an aircharger gets certified, you can contact K&N and ask for the sticker so you can pass inspection.

this is it! Im so sick of the whole intake thing! I got a MAC intake...got the K&N aircharger system...sucks! Im getting a guy to fabricate me a new one so it actually works. These intakes that we buy should not even be called cold air intakes. They should be called HOT air intakes since they do nothing but suck in hot air from the engine compartment. It doesn't work for me and I know that I havnt gotten any benefits from it. Honestly the best thing to IMO would be to leave the stock air box in, get a nice air filter, and maybe get the tube off of an intake while being connected to the airbox. Or you could do what im doing and get someone to make you and intake that actually takes cool air in the engine. Ive spent so much money on this its rediculous but im determined to get something that actually stands up to the name "CAI"

OK
I don't think my K&N intake is sold as a cold air model

Do what I'm doing on my 97 S10...cut the core support large enough that you can look through the grill and see the entire panel filter...got to love ram air for a 2.2 chevy :D
