2002 ford ranger trans fluid

I have a 2002 ford ranger edge v6 3.0 auto trans and was wandering if i could put a bottle of lucas trans fix in it even though i put a bottle in when i changed the trans fluid 1000 miles ago? My fluid level on the dip stick is high when on cold engine but when hot the level dips down is that normal? I wanna know if i can put the lucas in safely without overfilling the fluid. The lucas has 24 fl oz in the bottle.

Are you using the correct method for checking your transmission fluid ?

This is copied from your owners manual.

I managed to get a little bit of fluid out. The level is barely touching the area where it says dont add any more at this point. Can i not add the lucas? because i cant get any more fluid out.

Just curious. If you put a bottle in 1000 miles ago, why do you want to put more in? Are you having issues with the trans?
