i have a 2003 edge ext cab and i was wondering what would i need to do to make my 3.0 a 4.0 and how much $$$$ it would run me?

 

Engine, transmission, wiring harness, hoses, PCM and y-pipe would be the major parts. Probably a few more minor pieces too. Cost depends on where you get the parts, how many are new or used, what tools you need to buy or rent and how much labor you can do yourself.

 

buy a wrecked 03 truck that still runs with the engine/tranny set up you want and swap stuff. Probably the cheapest way and you get everything you need that way.

 

Better to stay away from a 2004 engine donor for a 2003 Ranger. There are some wiring incompatibilities.
