valve/rocker cover gaskets

valve/rocker cover gaskets
so I've tried reading up on replacing the cover gaskets. Mine are starting to leak pretty good. I've read through the chilton's instructions and a few of the threads on installing new rockers. None of them say that you have to take the intake off...they say take up to the throttle body off. But looking at it...I think the upper intake does need to come off. Can anyone speak to this? Before I start, what gasket sets do I need? (cover gaskets, throttle body gasket...any more?)

I just replaced my valve cover gaskets last week. I pulled the intake manifold as a assembly(left tb on)and just diconnected all the sensors and hoses. Took me about 2 hours. Parts I only needed were the valve cover gaskets. I reused the intake gaskets because they were not damaged. Dont forget to put some high temp silicone on where the intake meets the head.

yep the upper has to come off, you can follow https://www.ranger-forums.com/f43/ho...s-3-0-a-97008/
dont forget to put some rtv high temp on the parts that need it nothing else. Also you dont have to put on a whole lot just enough to cover the area.
