3.0 Exhaust

Hey all, im a newbie here. i was just curious to see what u all feel would be the best exhaust kit for my 3.0. Would you recommend the gibson, magnaflow, or a flow40 or an equal muffler with custom pipes from a local shop. I am looking to get the most power and a great sound.

thanks,
danny

I jus got a gibson extreme dual on my truck, im very pleased with the performance and sound, definitely a better sound than stock and sounds really good when ur accelerating. Im pleased it looks really good and isnt too loud, nor too soft, but good enough but that all depends on the person

Well I put a Flowmaster 40 series on mine (Catback Dual). I enjoy how it sounds though it's not too loud. I'd reccomend it. One thing you'll learn about them is you won't feel any horsepower difference unless you go all out with headers and all no matter which exhaust you used.

since you have a supercab, you have alot better choices for exhausts. I say get a cat-back magnaflow becasue its "tuned" for you truck, unlike throwing a muffler an a pipe on.

Borla, period. If not, then Magnaflows.

thanks for all of the responses, im really considering the gibson over the magnaflow because of the $200 difference. is the magnaflow really worth the extra money? the gibson exhaust is also tuned for our trucks.

I have the gibson extreme duals on mine and I love it. It's got nice sound and looks. It doesn't drown the inside of the cab with sound on the highway like the flowmasters do.

Glad to see someone else is looking into a new exhaust. I may be in the market for one by the winter, so good to hear what everyone else has to say about theirs.

NONE OF THOSE!!!!!!!!!

Like r0ng5 said.......BORLA, best performance, and sound that can be compared to the flowmaster 40 series.

Depending on how loud you want it there is a selection from the Pro-XS series...(which i have) Pro-Xs is avalible in various lengths....

Longer Muffler = Quietor Exhaust
Shorter Muffler = Louder

I have center/offset which is the shortest/loudest Borla muffler.....
you can right click save as the link in my signature to hear it on my 4.0

I am very pleased with the dynomax catback that I have on my 96 and it only cost me about $160 from Summit. Otherwise I would say Magnaflow.

I got a 2 chamber race flow with a turn down and gutted the last cat...i think it sounds perfect, nice tone but not loud as hell. And i can tell it has more low end torque than when it was straight piped.

Hey...Another one from Jacksonville...Hell yea man! Hope to see you around sometime bro! Gotta meet up!

Anyways..I have the Flowmaster 70s Series High Performance Dual In and Dual Out with no cats! I prolly wouldn't recommend it for yours simply b/c I have a Supercharger on mine! It sounds really good and LOUD...I would recommend getting The Flowmaster 40s Series Single In and Dual out with 2.5" Tips...Not too loud, and good rumble at idle! You can only get soo much power outta the exhaust b/c of the many cats on the truck in the first place. Your not gonna get 20+ HP outta these things, just might as well just go for sound quality and I've always stuck with Flowmaster myself..

PM me and let me know where your located at in J-ville, I might not be far from you man! Let me know! Later..Brian
