This '90 Ranger with a 2.9 has been the most reliable truck I've owned and has almost 300,000 miles on. But lately the motor will stop as if I had turned the key off and will not start back up until after its cooled down. Is this a common issue when these trucks get old? What should I do to solve this? Or where would I start in locating the offending member causing this?

 

Sounds like a bad Ignition coil, $15.00 , My first guess.

Or a bad Ignition module, $50.00
