Another Power Programmer question

I have been reading a lot of you guys run custom tunes. At this point I only want canned tunes. I will get some custom after I finish the other mods. What I was wondering is, for canned tunes, would the Superchips Cortex or the LiveWire sytem be best on a 99 xlt 4x4 with accell ignition, K&N CAI, Magnaflow Catback? I have stock 245/70/16, will be going to 33's after winter, and will probably be doing pulleys and some other stuff around the first of the year. I don't want to buy custom tunes until I get the pulleys done at least, but I want to do a programmer now to help out until then.

What do you guys think?

When you order your tuner it will come preloaded with tunes. I know with SCT they require you to enter the vehicles info such as wheel and tire size along with gears, turbo/supercharger, cam, etc etc. The only reason I would say get LiveWire is because there are so many tuners out there that deal with SCT so having your truck tuned wont be a problem. You wont need a custom tune anyways unless you are going boosted or running Nitrous or if you are getting Rouges MAF adapter. Other than that you wont need a custom tune. The tuner will also let you correct your speedometer when you get the bigger tires.

Was just reading and from my understanding the LiveWire system does not come with pre loaded tunes for my truck. What I have is in my sig so anyone know if this is true or not? I sent an email to rouge, but just gathering more info as I go. I'll be ordering whatever tuner within about 2 weeks or so, so any input would be great.

It looks like they wont come preloaded from either Rogue or Underdog. With Rogue you will have to e-mail your ecm code and then list what mods you have. You can easily install the tunes on the tuner. Also check out Henson performance he does some Rangers. Either one will send you tunes via e-mail adn you can just upload them to the tuner.

None of the devices come preloaded for the Ranger, it is all custom tuning. I have all the Ranger codes (All Ford Gas Trucks, actually).
Fred (Rogue Performance)
I do all of Wayne's tuning (Underdog/StuffForYourRanger)
