syn blend at least. It's a 3.0...don't waste money on full syn. Get Valvoline MaxLife for the engine. Sign up for the engine guarantee and go to town.

It doesn't matter, both will do a good job. Full syn you can run longer if you don't like changing the oil.

blend or full...both will work great. I run MaxLife blend every 5k miles. I'm sure I could probably go 6k or so...but 5 is plenty since I barely turn 10k a year. I'm on the fence if I want to use regular Motorcraft oil though...

Mobile 1, 5-20.
Not sure much has changed although the engine runs quieter.

Make sure you use the OEM Weight recommended by Factory, i think 5-20 is it but check it.

p.s. Not to be an a$$ but 5-30 is not 5-20 just to be ahead of the game here !
5-30 made my 5.0L noisy, chgd bak and it quieted down.

i run 10-30 ran 5-20 and lost the first engine within 500 miles of last oil change and it was noise with that oil in it. it runs great with 10-30 no noises and it never loose any oil pressure my gauge is always steady and never gose below 20psi even at an idle

I run Royal Purple, mainly because I get it at cost.

If it was a matter of cost, I'd keep what was in it from the factory. 5 W 20 seems to be on the rise with auto makers but I still have a harder time finding it then 5 W 30. I do the three thousand mile measure just because it takes me about 4 months to get there.
What ever is on sale or with a mail in rebate, Usually Q-state or Penzoil form Menard's. Most auto part stores advertise a "oil change special" 5 quarts and a filter for about $13.00 but I can get a case of oil for that same price after I get the rebate check back. They have been getting them out really quick now, just make sure you use a different address on each rebate you send in.

If i'm not mistaken your oil gauge is rigged to act like that from the factory and will only show a change if your pressure drops below about 5 PSI.

I put 15K miles on the truck using the full Syn Mobile 1, (no wood to knock on), so far so good.

Money wise no real change, I still think the engine runs smoother.

I usually wait till Shucks has a Royal Purple sale, and they have a deal of 4 quarts + a K&N Oil Filter gets you another free quart - so your saving a few bucks on the quart - and you only have ot change the oil once a year if you dont do huge highway drives
