Not sure if switching from royal purple to lucas would solve any tick issues like that, sincce they are both well lubriccated as it is...

Not sure if I have any answer from what it may be.. have you actually tried taking a wooden dowel and listening to it? it may be catching a rebound off the side of the engine, because with a slight ticking the immediate thought I have would be spark plugs (try pulling off the plugs and re-applying them with firm force) or a slight exhaust leak.

not a good engine mechanic.... being 17 working at a motorhome BODY SHOP.. kinda leads to only working with fiberglass/bondo/paint and lil metal fab... but but buddy is good with engines you think if i replaced that and buy better internals she would be better then new?

give me some web sites and some goodies i might throw some cash at no turbos or super charges though...

hi, my truck was making a ticking sound a couple of weeks ago just like you described. it turned out to just be dirt or something in a lifter. all i did was rev it up and keep it at 2500 rpm and it went away. of course not all problems are the same. i just rebuilt my motor last winter.
