A/C Recharge

How hard is this to do? Jiffy lube told me 85 bucks and thats with a "deal" cuz the manager hangs out with us local stang guys. I was in autozone though and saw the ac recharge kit for like 40 bucks. Is it worth doing myself

In my opinion, you shouldn't need a recharge on an 03 vehicle, and I wouldn't let Jiffy Lube do anything on my vehicles. They're know for their ripoff tactics. If the A/C is working, leave it alone. If its not, go to an independent service shop that's known to be honest and to do good work at a decent labor cost (ask around -- you'll find one) and have it checked.

You dont just recharge an a/c system. This is a sealed system. The only way refrigerant can get out is if you have a leak. Dont just "recharge" the system, find the leak and fix it. A/C repairs can be costly, but do it right. Whoever is calling it "freon" shouldnt refer to it as that. R134a isnt freon, it is a refrigerant though... If you were losing brake fluid would you just keep filling it up? I sure wouldnt... Have a trained professional do it right.
