Cam Synchro. Issue Help!!!

Hey guys new to this forum, old hand at Fords though, well here it goes I had to put new heads on my work truck this past weekend. While I had the heads off, I went ahead and replaced the cam synchro. After I get it all back together and make the first test run, I get a CEL and loose oil pressure. The new syncro failed, luckily it didn't do any damage, it just locked up the shaft and the gear kept turning. I placed the original one back on the truck to get home. Once home I replaced the synchro with a new one again. I put #1 on TDC 0 degree mark on the cranck pully, made sure I was on the compression stroke. I then placed the new synchro in place making sure the "tang was in the center of the opening with the alignment tool, and buttoned everything up. I cleared all codes, but on my way to the job the CEL came back on with P1336, which I understand is Crank and CMP out of sync. What did I do wrong. The truck seems to run fine, a little ping while underload. How do I get these back in sync? I am tired of looking at the CEL.

Check the wiring to the Cam sync and Crank sensor. One of them might be bad. (Could've gotten broken, pinched, or burnt)

Should I see voltage on those connectors with the key in the on position? Do I need to use my mulitmeter or will a test light suffice? Thanks in advance for the help.

Ok figured it out, and I feel like a total idiot. I had my wife and son watching the crank pully, I showed them where the zero was, they would tell me when to stop. I set the synchro. up. Fire it up and BAM CEL again, each time. I knew I was on the compression stroke. So tonight I did it again myself, same thing. I gave up went in the house resigned to take it to the shop. After dinner I said, let me give it one more try. This time I took sand paper to the pully, and rubbed baby powder on it, and low and behold, I was setting the pully to 20 degrees instead of zero. I changed everything around again and WAMMO, no CEL and she runs great.
