Will it fit?

Not sure if this would be the right place but I'll take a stab at it.

My friend has a 99 Ranger with the 3.0 I have a 2002 with the 2.3 He is going with a bigger engine and is basically going to give me his 3.0, will it fit and if so what else will I need out of his 3.0?

I am pretty sure I will need the ECU and the MAF right? But what else would I need to gank from his to do the swap if it is even possible.

TIA Dave

tranny, ecu, motor mounts, wireing harness... its almost not worth it to do a swap to a 3.0... you would be better served to save up for a 4.0 or a V8 since the 2002 2.3 had about the same HP as a 3.0 from 98

A 3.0L makes more peak torque due to its larger displacement but the peak horsepower is close to the same. If someone gave me EVERYTHING I needed to make that swap, I still don't think I would bother.

Would your friend get irritated if you sold the 3.0L and put the money toward a 4.0L or 5.0L conversion or some other mod?

ntm acully the newer 2.3l make more hp then the older one's

PS i wouldnt waste my time on a 3.0L eather. i would rather buy a $.99 for sale sign and just buy a 4.0L truck its cheaper and MUCH easier. yes there is fun to building a truck but some just arnt worth it. took me to long to notice that with mine. building my whole truck was a mistake.
