Unless you've got a tuner, premium gas is only draining your wallet faster. A K&N drop-in isn't going to give you what you want, I'd save my money for an intake, a tuner, and exhaust.

Stickers and a huge wing add alot of horse power too.

Kidding. Just research what you would like to do the most. Look for buyer feedback, not what the manufacturer boasts. They will say that certain parts will add '...' much horse power, but the neglect to tell you that you also need a grocery list of other upgrades to get that one item to work at its best.

I would save for a tuner way before spending 250 on those 2 mods.

a tuner is definately a plus. i think the efan should be a close second!

The other Bob sells fine products . But on a budget you can do an e-fan for $ 80 with a controller. I don't think the tuner can beat the bang for the buck.

i know this is old but i just ran across it and the difference is a "bamachip" is just what most people call the X-calibrator 2 after Doug from Bamachips programs it. Doug has the best tuner for our trucks and everyone on here will agree to that.

Man when you think about all the engine mods that add up you can switch in a 4.0 practically.

Interesting how everyone suggested a tuner when he doesn't have an EEC-V Ranger. It's a 1991 model...

yeah i did miss that. running 93 octane without a tune is really a waste of money as your engine doesnt know it can advance the timing to use the higher octane, so thats probably not helping much. other than that, exhaust and an intake/filter will give you small gains, i would go wtih an e-fan for sure

but its cheaper on gas.

I was looking at the tuner thing too and was like how would he use it on a 91, lol. E-fans, pulleys, intake and exhaust will help some. But worry about upping the power if you are looking at selling it anyway?

instead of starting another one of these threads, would it be too much to do exhaust intake tuner efan and underdrive pully?
