clunking noise coming from belt?

truck has come alive with annoying noises ;o)

lately i've been hearing a very subtle clunking noise coming from my belt/pulleys somewhere. it is definitely not belt squeak, and it seems to be worse when i first start the truck. it is intermittent; you'll hear some "clunking" for a second or two, then it will be fine for a few seconds, then more clunking, etc etc. kinda sounds like loose or bearings or something... i dunno.

any ideas?

Was the Hvac set to off?
was the engine cold or hot?

seems like the sound is much more obvious if the truck is cold. as far as the hvac controls, it doesnt matter if its on or off, clunk is still there.

hehe fuel pump solved... it was the check valve in the sender assembly.

it's working flawlessly now (after a new sender heh)

nitrous coming in the next week or two :o)

Not enough info to help you..
maybe get a piece of fuel hose or a "mechanics stethoscope"
and listen around for the area of the engine its coming from.

or it could be the timing chain it makes a loud clicking sound...which would me you really need to fix it soon or you have fun getting everything back in timing
