Code P0353 ?

Hello folks great yo be here .here’s my problem was getting this code P0353 primary circuit fault of ignition coil c.
I’ve replaced coil pack ,spark plugs, plug wires and cleaned out all the connections to the pcm which everything is clean. I read that a weak battery could cause issues but the scanner is showing 14.5 bolts being put out from the alternator I’m not sure if it could be a bad pcm or a bad valve in the head .it will smooth out for a minute then go back to misfire ,any thoughts also the battery is six years old suprisinglybbut still cranks strong appreciate your help my fellow ranger owners.

Hi,
It can help others better inform you if you provide as much info as possible. Such as mileage, year, maintenance frequency etc.. Did you clear the code after you made repairs and it returned ,or were you expecting the code to clear itself after repairs?
Have you checked the battery voltage with the vehicle off? Have you rechecked the firing order on the spark plug wires? Easy to get mixed up. Did you check the coil condenser connection? (if you have one). When you changed the coil pack, was the mounting surface free of rust and dirt. Something else to consider, but not related to your code, a dirty fuel injector.

Thank you for your response my ranger is a 2007 with 160000 miles I did clear the codes after replacing the coil pack and spark plugs and wires I even bought a second coil pack in case the first one was faulty. I didn’t check the battery not running only through the scanner showing the alternator putting out 14.5 volts .I know the battery is five years old but has never failed to start or even act at all like it is weak .I was told a weak battery wouldn’t make it misfire I did today however find out that number six and number 2 cylinder are not firing ,I did verify firing order and also noticed that both of those have way weaker spark from the coil compared to other cylinders could it be a bad coil acting the same way even after buying another brand new coil ?I saw a video it could be a bad pcm does this sound like a bad pcm ?thank you in advance for your knowledge and opinions

PCM can be a possibility, but it is not a plug and play with your year truck I believe due to the anti-theft system. So you are going to want to be sure in your resolution. You should check the wiring first, usually a digital volt meter will suffice, from PCM to coil pack. PCMs don't usually fail often, but when they do, it's due to water damage or heat damage.,leaking capacitors etc. If you were lucky enough to buy 2 bad coil packs, you should buy some lottery tickets.

Hello update on my 2007 Ranger .bought the new coil and it didn’t fix the problem next I’m going to check the volts from pcm yo plug at ignition coil I’m hoping maybe it’s just the pigtail of the harness it doesn’t look damaged but it would be good if that’s what it is .can anyone else think of what else it could be ? Would the crankshaft sensor without a code be the issue ? Thanks I’n advance

Hi , I’m looking at this forum as I am having literally the exact same problem down to a T . I’ve replaced all wires , spark plugs , could pack 3 times over . I just replaced my crank shaft & cam shaft positioning sensors but I still have no spark on cyl 2 or 6 .
did you ever solve this issue ?
