Coolant temp sensor

Hey guys I have a 08 with the 3.0 non flex fuel, I've been reading that these trucks have two coolant temp sensors. One wire for gauge and two wire for the computer. I only see the two wire sensor when you unplug it the gauge drops to nothing. Did they change it to where it's a single sensor for the gauge and the computer all in one? I'm wanting to change out the sensor for the computer, having a weird rough idle. No codes or check engine light. New fuel pump and filter, plugs and wires. New coil pack IAC valve and tps. Any help would be appreciated.

My truck doesn't have the other sensor next to it like all the pics I see online the one right next to the thermostat has a two wire plug. No sperate single wire plug to the left of it for the gauge. Rock auto shows one sensor as far as I can tell.

I just looked at rock auto. There is a sender and a sensor. Maybe you have an aftermarket piece up there close to the thermostat. I would figure out which one you can get to right now what what it’s for. If it’s for the gauge, you need to look for sensor

Must have missed that. Everything I've been reading says the two wire temp sensor is for the computer and the single wire is for the gauge. When I disconnect the two wire sensor by the thermostat housing my gauge drops to zero. Guess I'll have to look again for the sender. Thanks for your help
