Correct oil for 1999 Ranger 3.0 litre
I own a 1999 Ranger with the 3.0 litre 81,000 miles. The owners manual states to use 5W30 oil, but I have been reading from other forums and oil supplier manuals that the 5W20 Motorcraft Synthetic Blend oil is now recommended for my 3.0. I already buy the 5W20 Mototcraft Synthetic blend for my 2005 Ford Escape with the 2.3 engine. And am buying the 5W30 Motorcraft Synthetic Blend for my Ranger. If it is ok to do, I'd rather just buy the 5W20 and use it in both vehicles.
i run full synthetic 5W30 in my 2000 ranger 3.0l flex and i have exactl 158k today but then again i change my oil every 3k miles im about to switch to lucas or possibly go with a little thicker synthetic royal purple brand
