distributor install help! 2.9L
In my stupidity and instalation of a new head gasket forgot to put those all important marks on the distributor, now I'm at a loss as to how to put the distributor back in to where my truck will run right.
Can anyone help me out here?????????

Pull the #1 plug. Turn the balancer till it reads 0degrees. Put the distributer back in. The cap should be marked for the #1 wire. The rotor should point to such.
This SHOULD have you somewhere +/-10 degrees from where you need to be. Tighten the distributer bolt down so its firm, but allows for some movement in turning it. Start the truck. Slowly turn the distributer both ways till you find the ' sweet spot '. cut the engine off, sinch the bolt for the distributer down so the distributer no longer turns.
Your done.

D., thats right on, ended up figuring that out after a while, now I just have to do the timing tomarrow along with a ton of other odds and ends then the red POS will be ready for the road again.... woohoo
