EGR question??
EGR question??
I have a 2000 Ranger sport, 3.0 supercab, and i was looking at headers to buy and it said EGR only, and they one without EGR only.. I was wondering what EGR is and which one i would buy?
EGR is Exhaust Gas Recirculation. If you have it on your truck you gotta keep it there. I can't tell you if yours has one or not. It's a valve that routes exhaust gases back into the intake to take up space in the combustion chamber to reduce chamber temperatures and emissions. Look at your exhaust manifold and see if there is a valve or a pipe going to a valve attached to either one. If there is you have an EGR. But you can spend your money on a lot better things then headers for 700 bucks.
why not take some pics of the engine bay and post them on here??? that will help get a definite answer to this question quickly....
if you do, just take one from left side, right side, and the front
