Fan Clutch for 2000 3.0 V Flex fuel

Hi Guys & Girls: New here, So I need to replace the fan clutch, Went to O Reilly's picked up a Hayden 2779 severe duty fan clutch, installed it and fan would not stop spinning Very noisy on acceleration. Live in Los Angeles, CA. Can't find a stock fan clutch everyone offers "Severe duty fan clutch" can go to Ford and pay $178 for OEM. Which fan clutch have you guys used? Hope that maybe I have a new faulty one. Hope you guys shead some light.

I'd probably stick w/ oem if it you need to be back on the road quickly. I also have a 2000, and the clutch works fine still. How many miles did you get out of yours? Why not look into an E fan? I'll probably go that route when mine kicks the bucket.

Check out RockAuto.com. They sell OEM parts for reasonable prices. Last I checked, a Motorcraft YB3046 Fan Clutch goes for $104.79.

To the OP, did the problem get fixed or are you just living with it?
