fuel filter mount

I just finished swapping out the fuel filter on my 01 edge, and yes the little push clips on the back side were a PITA. In all the wiggling around to get them off I took a squirt of gas right in the moustache, so I'm running on a slight unleaded buzz right nowlol

Anyways my question is the filter i bought did not have a bolt to lock it to the frame, it's just hanging loose and I'm not to keen on that. Do you think this could cause a problem? I m thinking I might get a big hanger zip tie but even that would not be all that sturdy. Any suggestions on comments would be appreciated.

What brand of fuel filter?

I just replaced mine and reused the stock nut. Purolator.

yea...what brand?

I believe both the fuel filters i picked up came with new nuts. Believe purolator.

If all else fails...just zip tie it to the frame.

I recently did my fuel filter on my 04, very easy but got a huge shot of gas in the face. I even pulled the fuse for the pump, and let it run out but still had some pressure. Mine, you just take your thumb or a small screwdriver and push in these release clips and just pull the line off, and then to put them back on, you just slide the lines back on and they lock back in themselves. As for the bracket, its just a big metal clip, no nuts or bolts on the 04. Next time I might try and also release more pressure from the valve on the fuel rail.
