Fuel filter woes

Let's say, for an example, someone goes to replace their fuel filter. Let's assume they get everything off properly. Let's pretend they go to put everything back together but when the plastic retainer clips go back into place, one of them should happen to break. Let's now imagine this happened to me today. :)

I have the fuel filter back in place and one line it held on by a zip tie but I want to replace the broken plastic retainer. Any ideas where to get these? Has anyone just replaced these worthless connectors altogether and had success? I might have to go down to the local junkyard for just ONE STINKING CLIP! But for now, at least, it's driveable so I can take my time and get some suggestions. Thanks gang!

Mine didn't. Anyone else have some ideas? I can't find them online. Found them for the Explorer on Amazon.com but they aren't even close to mine.

I went and picked up the pack of 3/8" Ford fuel line clips but they aren't even close to the correct size. Anyone else have any ideas?

You're screwed. Same things happened to me. I went everywhere looking for the clips. I finally went to Ford and they told me i had to order the entire fuel line. But it costs like $300!!! I said screw that and just wrapped safetywire around the fuel line, pulling it toward the fuel filter, and tied it off around the backside of the filter. Kinda ghetto, but hasn't come off yet and saved me $300.

The box came with 3/8 and 5/16. Neither of them were even close to fitting. I went to Les Stumpf Ford | Appleton, WI Ford Dealer | Fox Cities source for new and pre-owned cars, trucks and SUV's. and they said they had them but they are $17 EACH! Sheesh. I checked the filter last night when I was trying to get the replacement parts to work and it is leaking fuel all over the frame. ARGH!

Well we have a winner! I wasn't able to find the parts are O'Reilly's or Autozone but I did find them at Pep Boys. Here is the one(s) that I originally purchased:

The package has 3/8" and 5/16" clips but they aren't the right size or form. These are the correct ones.

And these are the way the look. The one on the left is the new one. The one on the right is the original. You can see the product ID in the corner in case you need some for your truck.
