Icon7 Engine swap 3.0 Flex Fuel to 3.0 gas only

Hey Guys, has anyone out there performed an engine swap from a Ranger 3.0 Flex Fuel to a 3.0 gasoline engine. My truck is a 1999. The cam synchro gear was stripped, the engine lost oil pressure, and is now toast. I have found some Flex Fuel engines, but the cost is$1600 and up. The truck is not worth that kind of dough.

I did find a Gasoline engine from a 1998 for very reasonable money. Some say the computer will have to be changed, some say the fuel rail and injectors need changed. Does anyone know for certain if this can be done with good results?

The 1998 engine will work if you use the 99 injectors, computer, injector harness, etc.

What about the opposite? Going from a 3.0 gas to a 3.0 Flex Fuel? What all needs to be changed?
