getting a 3.0 motor and tranny

going to be obtaining a 3.0 motor and tranny that seized at idle due to no oil. i've never built a motor, so i'm taking this opportunity to learn. kinda dont know which way i should go. i know the 3.0 is a shitty motor. power wise, but its what my truck has now and i honestly would love to have a spare sitting around. suggestions on what i should do on the rebuild? like aftermarket?

if you are looking for parts. try fordpartsdiscountoutlet.com, i just rebuilt the whole lower end on my 3.0 and they have the best price for a new (not remanufactured) crankshaft and several other parts as well. good luck, it was easy enough to do. i had rod bearings that melted to the crank because the cam synchronizer went south and stopped the oil pump from working.
