Well I bought a K&N CAI off of ebay last week and in the description it said for 02 03 04 Ran/Mazda 3.0L. Well to my surpsie when I open the box and pull out the instructions, it says for 01 - 03 Ranger/Mazda 3.0L's ............ I'm about to ask the dumbest question ever, is it the same? it looks to be the same from the pictures on the instructions.

Okay so Update, I was wrong. the 01 - 03 MAF's and their housings are apparently removable? and mine is not! Oh well, Intake send back #2

 

You are right. The MAF is different. 04+ have the little push in style one with two bolts holding it in. Earlier ones have the 'normal' style one.

I had one on my 04 when it was tanked. Sadly, i didnt have the time to pull it off before the insurance took it away :(. Those 04+ ones are expensive!

 

wow that sucks! yeah the MAF on 04+(?) is the two bolt HEX style
