I had them. Please don't. They are too loud and they don't sound very good.

Magnaflow is good. Glasspacks were loud enough that I ditched them and went with a quieter muffler. I have Borla, but that's probably to quiet for you.

2 and 1/4 inch is the stock pipe size. Those are good for a while and they rumble yes. here's a photo for ya:

It depends on which kind you get. I got the 2 inch and went about a foot behind the cab and it sounds really good.

x2! I too had one at one time....I didn't mind the loudness, but it just sounded like garbage on the Ranger. On my chevy on the other hand...sounded like it came straight out the 70's and I loved it. Gotta love 8 cylinders.

if you want a crappy sounding muffler go for a cherry bomb on a v6 and i've also heard that cherry bombs sound great on a v8 ,and i've never heard you loose power with a chambered muffler, besides if you want power sell your ranger and go for a sports car haha

It really sounded better than I thought it would, but once they burn out look out. I had Flowmaster and I have heard Magnaflow and those 2 are the best exhaust notes you'll ever hear on the ranger 3.0 V6. The Magnaflow is a bit more expensive because it's stainless steel and will outlast the flowmaster, but for the money what I have is about the cheapest you can go. However Cherrybomb does have other types of mufflers availible instead of the glasspack. And Thrush doesn't own cherrybomb either. Cherrybomb is independant and has been around since 1968. Their logo says disturbing the peace since 1968.

I want to try a Cherry Bomb Extreme(1 chamber muff) followed by a Glasspack tip. I've heard it on their own advertising vehicle(the black-n-white Charger) and it sounds wicked awesomely badass. But don't wanna try it on a 6cyl(glasspack sounds bad, 1 chambers sound bad)...only on my chevy.

I had a 2" (factory pipe size for 98) glasspack on mine exiting in the stock location and it was just fine...quiet at idle and cruising speed but a little louder at about 3k RPM

i swapped the muffler for a 50 series flowmaster and they sounded almost identical....both with no cats

is 98 the last year for 2inch and then it's 2 1/4 after that? i need a new muffler and i wanted to verify the size. (remember I'm a 2.5L if that makes any difference)
