lost the dizzy gear idk why need help

ok here it goes idk what the deal is here but 2 weeks ago i lost spark so where i dont know much about elec stuff so i took it to a guy around my house he switched the dizzy, cap, r button, modual on rad support, and the coil that did nothing so i took it to a guy that does only auto elec work come to find out itwas a broken wire from the harness to the coil that got fixxed the other day it stoped running again no fire again so i took it back to the elec guy and the gear got stripped right out off the dizzy oil pump seems fine ran a drill on it for 20 min seemed to go fine changed the gear from the old dizzy to the junk yard one and now it runs fine and seems to have more power ?? now i talked to this guy i know and he said there is a pressure release valve on the oil pump and if the spring is bad then it will chew that gear off he says it will prob happen again and may blow the motor??? have any of you heard of this ??

Very common on 2.3 engine if dist base to gear measurement not perfect, even .010 will prematurely wear gear, also use 5W20 oil.

Do any of you guys think this could be somthing that could cause my motor to blow? The gear that got chewed up only took 2 weeks to fail but like i said i didnt see what kind of shape it was in before it got put in! Also this other guy i talked to said you cant drop the oil pan to change the pump unless you pull the mootor is this true??? I hope not that would be a real pain in the ****!!
