Maf mod. trans shift point.

I got the engine running right by smoothing the maf a little better than i had it. It runs good has more power threw the whole power band. But when i wot the trans shifts out late in first gear and kinda lags into secound. Hit the governer a few times with it in D. Put the original maf houseing back on and it shifts perfect again. Wonder how the maf is messing my trans shifting up... ????

I believe it's because the power vs. throttle position is no longer "right".

Your PCM should learn shifting properly again. You can put it into fast-learning mode by resetting it (the old disconnect-your-battery-for-15-minutes trick...)

I drove around for bout a week like that.. Beat a 3.8 firebird with it hah wish it was shifting smooth though. Got my orignal on back on didnt wanna cause any wear on the trans didnt know what it could do to it. Im gunna try reseting the comp and see what happens. Maybe it will work that mod really does make a big difference was like light to dark when i put the orignal on back on.

Yes, it does. I posted in your "beat a 4.0" topic though -- I don't think you're "there" yet in your mods and one race against one other driver doesn't prove your truck. Keep going though.
