Hot-rodded work truck?

Saw a coolant leak.
Found leak to be coming from timing cover.
Pulled timing cover.
Decided to finally install JBA headers that I got a while back.
Snapped bolts trying to get exhaust manifolds off.
Pulled heads.
Taking heads in today to get them rebuilt.
I have new plugs, cap, rotor going in.

Now that I am this far into the engine, what else should I do?
I pull a small construction trailer sometimes and have a topper on with tools in the back of the truck. Lacks power pulling the small trailer.
I don't want to spend a million dollars and I need to get this back on the road ASAP. I need just a little more "juice" but I don't want to make the truck unreliable and I need it to last me a few more years- maybe another 170k miles.

I've looked on Summit and Jegs and haven't really found any reasonable options for performance parts. Also, I don't think the UD pulley set is worth the money, is it? And it is only the one pulley- the crank pulley?

Injectors?
I am not sure what the stock injectors put out but I see that there are some aftermarket on Jegs. Are they worth it and in what case would I want to use any of these? JEGS High Performance

Camshaft?
Are there any reasonably priced cams out there?

Intake?
Again, are there any reasonably priced options out there?

Timing chain?
Is there a gear set available?

Honestly, I would just put it all back together. Those parts aren't going to give you a huge boost in power.

Any freshened up motor will see new life that will almost seem like power adding.

I would say if everything you can see looks good and is clean, when the parts come back in just reassemble it.

Ok, that is kind of what I thought.
I did a bunch of little stuff to my Powerstroke and those little things made HUGE power!
Not sure about this little baby yet...

Yeah, the 3.0 is just a little turd of an engine. Best case scenario, its still a shined up turd.

Since the heads are off and being rebuilt why not do a port and polish on them.

This is about the only company I know of that makes anything for the 3.0. Also someone is selling a set of rocker arms for half off. That will help

Tom Morana Racing Engines

A cam will do wonders IF you put on intake air kit.
The air kit and the exhaust will help the cam a lot.

Get a kit, pay the extra money, get it right.
Think about a computer chip, after that.

DON'T polish the ports, larger valves maybe but the polishing is not going to do a engine any good on the street.

I had the heads gone through and they did a "lite port and polish"... apparently when they cut the valve seats they went back in an cleaned things up. We'll see.

Yes... I found Morana's website and had to turn off the internet and cry. Their stuff looks really nice but I don't have the dough for that- dang!

I am thinking that I am going to have to do a DIY cold air intake- I should be able to find some tubing and get 'er done.

As far as a chip goes- who offers a chip for the OBD1?
