Hey guys, I am struggling with an odd dying issue. I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge with a little over 150,000 miles. Recently it started dying with driving on the highway. It only does it around 65 MPH. I attached a video clip of it happening, I also included a YouTube link to the video. It appears that it is losing connection to to the computer. It also just happens to be when the truck is vibrating the most due to the tires my daughter has on it. I was just curious if anyone had ever seen something similar? I am not sure where to look. It seems like something is loose, but I don't know where to start looking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys, I have narrowed down my issue to the engine harness. I noticed that the ecu connector has a ground wire to the lower 2nd from the right pin. It goes to the firewall. I have attached a picture from a used harness that I am going to put on.
On my daughter’s truck that ground pin came out of the connector. I pushed it back in as far as I could but I don’t know if it is all the way back in.
Question, what does that ground wire go to? I can’t find a pin out diagram that tells me, does anyone know? I’m wondering if that ground could be part of my issue. Thanks.
According to my chiltons guide it is pin 25. Which just goes to ground. I can’t see what that ground is used for. Is it the ground for the pcm? My chiltons guide doesn’t tell me anymore.
