oil drain plug size?

i have a bad oil leak on my ranger and was wondering what size drain plug i need to get. i replaced the plug a couple years ago, but i will try again before i attempt a day long job of replacing the pan.

also, are the bolts at the auto shop as good as the ford ones at the dealer?

any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just get a new seal washer........grab a bunch of different sized ones at the local hardware store or autoparts store.

new washer is a great idea, also make sure the bolt is at least grade 5....grade 8 would probably be overkill
