Good performance set up help...
Ok so basically what I want to get out of this thread is a good performance set up...
I want the best gear ratio... ive heard 4 36 to 4 56
AND
The best Aiur Intake system that gives the most HP and mpg gains
So with that said I would appreciate any input..
Thanks guys

For that much $ you would probably be better off going to a 302. Thats my look on it anyway, if you aren't too concerned about mpg I feel modding the 3.sl0w is a waste and your better off saving for a 302 swap if you are mechanically inclined enough and have the necessary space/tools.

honestly your not going to get alot out of the 3.0. Its pretty easy to slap on an intake... IMO an intake is an intake, to make all generalizations. Id say just get a drop in filter, all the Intakes for our truck are pretty much Warm air intakes anyway, even with the heat sheild.... on top of this there has been shown a minimal gain of maybe 1-2hp by going to an intake over just a drop in filter... but at a price difference of $30 for the filter, and $275 for the intake...
Even with an intake and exhaust the 3.0 is a slouch, you might wanna check out rogue performance, and look into a torque tune...
If its any reference to you, my friend has a 2002 reg cab 2wd auto 3.0, with intake, exhaust, and the SCT tuner, and runs low 19's on 31" tires and 3.73 gears.
