I have a 96 xlt when I drive it the temp continues to climb till it overheats I have replaced the water pump twice the thermostat twice all hoses and the radiator, the clutch fan was replaced.with a electric fan any help it doesn't run hot unless it is driven idle doesn't seem to bother it it has about 425,000 miles on the stock motor and transmission. Transmission is a auto if that helps

That's some impressive mileage. I think you may have head or head gasket issues. Do the rubber glove test on the radiator for a quick check... or a cooling system pressure check. There are some other ways to diagnose but this is a good start.

Thank you I was hoping not to get that response it's been a good truck for the last 15 years just don't see putting alot more money in it but the body is in great shape the trans has started slipping a little and not sure if I should just take it to the farm and use it instead of putting more money in it
